Artlant PtA adds Limpet® L5 to enhance safe access and rescue capability
Edinburgh based height safety company Limpet Technology, today announced that Artlant PTA, the second largest producer of PTA (Purified Terephthalic Acid) in Europe, has acquired a Limpet® multifunctional safety system in order to enhance working-at-height and rescue capability at their main facility in Sines, Portugal. The solution was sold to Artlant through Jorge Lozano, Limpet Technology’s expert partner in Portugal.
Limpet Technology’s business development director, Philip Taylor commented, “We are delighted that a major organization like Artlant has chosen to integrate Limpet into their health and safety programme. Limpets are being used by a growing range of industries for an ever more diverse set of applications, from personnel lifting to load lifting, rescue, evacuation and ladder access.”
João Ferreira Gordo, Emergency Operations Supervisor at Artlant PTA stated, “We acquired a Limpet L5 to combine with, or substitute some of the rescue kits already existent, either used for rescue purposes or work positioning needs. We are using the L5 daily, to assist our working at heights or confined space jobs as part of our rescue plans. Due to its simplicity and electrical winch capabilities it allowed us to reduce in job preparation time and personnel availability. He added “Combined with different types of frames internally developed, it can be set up in the various working areas directly, or at our Emergency Vehicle, which allows us to keep the equipment out of the EX zones, as needed.”
